First Female African American Supreme Court Justice Nomination
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is President Joseph Biden makes his first nomination to the United States Supreme Court. Notable local leaders in the Rhode Island legal community including Jim Vincent, President of the NAACP Providence Branch, and Michael Yelnoski, Professor and former Dean at Roger Williams School of Law, are hopeful that the female woman of color will bring fresh and unique prospective to the high court. The Judge’s personal and professional life including rulings, publications, and affiliations will be scrutinized before the upcoming Senate Judiciary Committee Hearings that should be concluded before the end of April.
